Panama: On Friday 25 May, Fonroche Lighting in local partnership with Solateq Lamps, put on a special event called “A night under solar light”. The presentation was a chance to tell the 70 guests, including representatives from the French Embassy, about Fonroche’s solar public lighting solutions, complete with a live demonstration of a recently installed solar streetlight.

The purpose of the event was also to raise awareness about the environmental impact of the country’s burgeoning urban growth, especially the massive electricity consumption of the associated grid-connected public lighting infrastructure. Fonroche was keen to emphasize the importance of change and present the solutions for remedying the situation. Among the opportunities that exist today, solar public lighting is the solution chosen by local company Solateq Lamps, the main distributor of Fonroche’s Smartlight range in Panama.
