A Key Project for Solar Electrification in The Gambia 🌍☀️
The construction of the OIC Bertil Harding Highway represents a significant advancement in The Gambia's transport infrastructure, facilitating smoother traffic flow for the Gambian population. To improve the safety of road users and nearby residents, over 1,148 solar-powered streetlights by Fonroche Lighting were installed. These autonomous LED streetlights provide a sustainable and intelligent solar public lighting solution, enhancing both user safety and public health. This project showcases an effective model for equipping all types of infrastructure while respecting the environment.
Thanks to this lighting system, the highway’s two lanes and its associated facilities benefit from reliable illumination 365 nights a year, while also reducing electricity demand.
