A New Eco-Friendly Lighting System for the Draguignan Hospital Center
The Draguignan Hospital Center (CHD) in Draguignan (83) recently inaugurated its brand-new outdoor solar lighting system. Autonomous solar streetlights from Fonroche Lighting's Smartlight range, powered 100% by solar energy, were selected for this renovation project. This marks a significant step towards a more sustainable and economical lighting management system, aiding in their ongoing ecological transition.
A Well-Informed Choice for Solar Lighting Serving Patients
In response to rising energy costs and to secure its parking lots and access routes, the hospital center installed 65 Fonroche Lighting photovoltaic streetlights in October 2023. These streetlights provide powerful and eco-friendly lighting 365 nights a year, with no electricity costs, ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. Autonomous and easy to install, they have no impact on the electrical grid. Thanks to these installations, parking areas and access routes are now secured 24/7.
One of the main reasons the hospital center opted for solar streetlights is the significant energy savings. By utilizing solar energy, public services like hospitals can significantly reduce their electric energy consumption, thereby lowering operational costs.
Testimonial from Mr. Ludovic Voilmy, General Director of CHD:
"For several years, we faced a failing electrical network and outdated streetlights. Renewing the outdoor lighting was a priority in 2023. Thanks to the @UGAP purchasing center, we chose solar streetlights made in France. These durable pieces of equipment ensure the safety of users and night staff, while achieving significant savings, up to €30,000 per year."
Testimonial from Laurent Lubrano, General Director of Fonroche Lighting:
"A year ago, the CHD of Draguignan approached us. After a technical and economic study, we demonstrated the competitiveness and reliability of our solutions. Although the region is suitable for solar, our streetlights can illuminate anywhere in the world!"
Simplified Public Lighting Procurement with UGAP
Thanks to UGAP, the CHD was able to complete this project quickly, benefiting from negotiated rates and avoiding a call for tenders. This initiative is part of a broader effort to reduce the hospital center’s ecological footprint while ensuring a safe and secure work environment for all staff.
